Emergency Services
Our on-call therapists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for Wood County youth and their families in need of emergency mental health services when safety is at risk. We also provide a prompt response following community disasters or traumas.
Crisis
CRC has provided crisis intervention (CI) services since the agency’s inception. Families with youth in need of emergency mental health services can connect with our CI 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Likewise, they may be referred for CI services through other county systems or providers.
Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS)
MRSS is a statewide service supported through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. CRC is a certified MRSS provider for Wood County, offering crisis intervention wherever the youth is located to prevent out of home placement. MRSS staff can also provide short-term stabilization services for up to six weeks following a crisis intervention in order to reduce the likelihood of recurrent crises.
Residential Services
Our residential services provide short-term care in a structured setting for children and adolescents whose behaviors may be a danger to themselves or others, or when the family system is in some other type of crisis. Staff help youth learn ways to cope with life stress, develop positive social skills, and practice age-appropriate responsibilities. We work with the child and family to develop a plan to safely return home. More information on our residential unit below.
Residential Unit (RU)
The residential unit is a secured setting with eight single bedrooms, a living area, bathroom, and staff area. Residents also have access to areas outside of the RU depending on their assessed level of risk that include an art room, gym, and outside recreation area. The RU is staffed by a team of Behavior Specialists, an RU Team Leader, and a Program Manager. Additional support is provided by Crisis Intervention, Nursing, Food Service, and Transportation teams.
Please note, while we don’t accept direct referrals from parents/guardians for specific programs, every child will receive a comprehensive mental health assessment prior to receiving services. This process is designed to develop a diagnostic forumulation and identify the child’s relevant needs. The mental health assessment forms the basis for all subsequent treatment planning.
Payment and Coverage
All services provided by CRC (excluding Prevention Services) are billed through the client’s insurance. CRC accepts Medicaid and most health insurance plans. For remaining portions of the client’s bill, funding through the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board Levy allows us to offer services to Wood County residents under a generous sliding fee scale based on income and household size. Proof of income documentation must be provided to qualify.
