CRC to Provide New Body Image Group Summer Program

A supportive and empowering body image group designed specifically for adolescents ages 14 and up struggling with body image and self-esteem. Through a combination of group discussions, interactive activities, and mindful movement, adolescents will challenge societal norms and sterotypes, and learn and practice strategies for cultivating a healthy relationship with their bodies.

Group Goals

  • Promote self-acceptance: creating an environment with tools and resources that empower individuals to embrace themselves.

  • Develop positive self-talk: help adolescents cultivate positive self-talk and affirmations to combat negative thoughts about their bodies.

  • Challenge unrealistic beauty standards: education adolescents about the unrealistic standards perpetuated by media and society by empowering them to question and critiqu these ideals

The program will be provided at CRC - 1045 Klotz Rd. Bowling Green, OH 43402. While we don’t accept direct referrals from parents/guardians for specific programs, every child will receive a comprehensive mental health assessment prior to receiving services. This process is designed to develop a diagnostic forumulation and identify the child’s relevant needs. The mental health assessment forms the basis for all subsequent treatment planning. This group is not a treatment intended for individuals with eating disorders.
